Author, Illustrator

Presenter Info

Mick Elliott is an author, illustrator, TV producer, scriptwriter, reading ambassador and
mischief maker.

Mick wrote and produced three series of Play Along With Ollie, featuring the first Australian muppet character for the Sesame Workshop and Nick Jr. He is currently executive in charge of production on the Paramount Family live action adventure series Rock Island Mysteries.

His hugely popular debut book series, THE TURNERS, a comedic fantasy for middle grade readers about a reluctant 13-year-old shape-shifter, was nominated for an Aurealis Award for Best Children’s Book, and was voted amongst Better Reading’s TOP 50 Kids’ Books.

His illustrated middle grade series, SQUIDGE DIBLEY, tells the story of a heroic special-needs kid who accidentally unleashes havoc at an unspeakably strict primary school. It has sold in six international territories.

DADS AND DOGS is the first in a trilogy of picture books published by Walker Books Australia. It’s a celebration of the joy and chaos of fatherhood in all its different forms.
The book was inspired by Mick’s own experiences as a father and first-time dog owner.
His next picture book, MUMS AND MOGS is coming in 2024
